I believe the Tesla Model S (as an example) does not come with a spare. Uncertain what Tesla's logic is.

No Teslas have spares. The logic is "our roadside support team will fix it."

My logic is that we need to get an aftermarket spare for ours if we were to ever take it on a trip, because their logic is stupid.

Lots of new cars don’t have spares now. All of ours do :) My friend hit a rock going over Daylight Pass a few months ago (no snide comments, he’s a very good driver) in his Model 3, destroying the tire and bent the rim. He got good service to get towed to Beatty where he rented a Wrangler to continue his trip. But it took several days to get a tire from Reno. He didn’t seem upset; he liked the Jeep.

The nice thing about DV is that if it is 105F at Furnace Creek then it is in the pleasant low 80s on Lee Flat or high 70s at the Charcoal Kilns.

I thought about this as we drove into the park, though it was closer to 90 as we passed the turnoffs to Darwin and Lee Flat/South Pass. But we just got a dog which will change my National Park visiting. We drove through the park and camped outside Tecopa and enjoyed the Amargosa River trail (BLM, dogs ok) followed by a coffee-date shake at China Ranch.

I'm always disappointed by the message NPS sends. On the surface, we allow dogs. But the fine print lets you know they don't welcome them anywhere but the concrete or asphalt.

While I don't miss my Flppac it was my first camper and there were many good trips with it.
