I happened to be watching Extreme Home Collection on Netflix and the episode I was watching featured this house on the edge of Death Valley.

The owner lives in Europe so most of the time it's a vacation rental.

It's southwest of Scotty's Junction Airport, about a half a mile east of Scotty's Castle Rd. Enter "37.26031, -117.0938" in Google Maps. Have any of you guys seen or heard of this house? Looks like a cool place to stay though I think for most of you it would defeat the purpose of camping and roughing it.

I say we put a sign on the park, "Park Closed to NPS - Designated Restoration Area." Mother nature is doing a good job restoring the alluvial plain that is Death Valley's floor.

No, have not read that literary masterpiece. Seriously though, in NZ you do something stupid, and hope to blame some other entity, the collective society shrugs it shoulders and says "you're an idiot, it's your problem not ours." seems to work for them.
