Friday night, we stayed at the panamint springs resort, actually the campground across the street, 10 bucks and a flush toilet.
    20151114_064213.jpg

We headed to jail canyon, turned out to be Panamint days, a yearly event for about 300 jeeps. So by the time we got back to the trucks we were surrounded by heeps.
Jail canyon largest Intact mill in DV.

I will post more later, I have my dash cam but I will need to edit that video.

Pics look good! Heep fest, go figure. I read a heep group trip report on ExPo the other day... Didn't post in it but I gotta wonder, it seems like every day I read a report about heeps overheating... Why?

    Undersized radiator fans.

After jail canyon we went up the closed road to wildrose, the road closed signs are always there. Same washouts going up but nothing a sedan couldn't do. Had lunch and headed up emmigrant, road was clear, turned up Aguereberry for the view and then down to his mine.

We were out the 6th of Nov. through the 10th.

Started at Panamint Springs Resort, out to Hunter Mtn., up Lippincott Mine Road, camped at Homestake Camp, explored the Lippincott Mine area, visited the Playa Racetrack, had a major break at Teakettle Junction, looped around Hunter Mtn. and back to Saline Valley Hot Springs for the night, had another break (my Tacoma, CV axle), then rolled through Steel Pass to the Eureka Dunes CG for the final night. Drove out north bound to the 190 and back to Big Pine, then a night in Lone Pine (explored the Alabama Hills area, very cool history there) and home to San Diego.

A few pics from the trip...

This is why God gave us gas cans. These prices could easily justify $200 red Septer cans.

Just keep going to stovepipe, prices there were cheaper than Olancha.

Speaking of Stovepipe, after exploring Emmigrant we headed back to Stovepipe and turned towards the airport road and headed to Marble canyon. After heading up past the first ridge we found the path got erased in a few places, but we found our way up there and spent the night. Next morning we hiked the canyon and then headed home.

    Exactly.

I had 10 gallons in Rotopax on board, so just a top off after filling up in Ridgecrest on the way in.

    Plus, I don't mind supporting the locals (a little ;) )

Thanks, Death Valley was on our bucket list, glad to have finally checked it.

I'll post some more pics too.

Best 125 lbs you can carry. I also carry 42 lbs of water that sometimes I never use. The times I have used it, like when I came upon someone's fire in the Sierras that they must have thought that it was out and had grown to a 10' smoldering circle from all the pine needles and such, it was worth it's weight in gold. :) In DV it just makes sense to have things you will 'never use.'

I never carried more than 5 gallons of gas, enough to get me to a station

We always carry way more water than we need.
