I meant Dakar, not Deaver! oops

So I have been researching this to death and need a bit of help before I make my final decision. Dakar or Alcan!

I do 90% daily driver, 9% off-roading, and rarely carry anything in the bed. When I am off-road, I like to hammer-down on the desert trails. I hate slow crawling over things.

I currently have Walker-evans and uca's up front, set at 2.5" of lift. I want to maintain this ride hide and really don't want to set the Walkers at 3" (I will if I have to).

So….Which should I get? Are the Alcans really worth the +- $200 more??? I like that Alcan can taylor them to a specific ride height, but does this really make the $200 worth it

I haven't decided on shocks (probably a RR or some sort) but want to pick my springs first.

From people I have spoke to and my own personal experience, there are too many errors with their shipping/parts-pullers, etc. I would rather not risk receiving the wrong springs, bolts, etc. But if you have a good argument for why they are worth it, I am all ears.

I loved my Alcan springs on my last truck. Due to cost, though, I'll likely go OME Dakar this time.

What are you riding with for leafs in the rear now? If you are concerned with cost just get a progressive add a leaf

I have an aal now and hate it. It is rock hard and offers no suspension travel. I don't mind doing a leaf pack, I'm just not sure why i would spend 200 more for alcans, ya know?

I've heard nothing but great things about the All Pro leaves. Dakar is also solid and come with 2 overload leafs...Not a big deal if you are mostly street driving the truck. The overloads don't make the truck as flexy for offroad though.

3" lift EIBACH coils w/ 5100's front, OME/ Dakar leaf springs w/ toytec adjustable shackles at 1.5" and 5125's out back. 33x10.5x15 KM2's Relentless DIY steel bumper.
I have dakars and love them. If your wanting 3" then go with the all-pros. If you can afford Alcans then why not. I've heard good things from all 3 of these brands.

    Too many to list now.
My alcans were not cheap, but they're custom built to my needs. I'd buy them again.

Does anyone have pro's and cons to Alcan or Dakar? Or the reasoning for a 200 price difference?

Reasoning - custom made to your exact specification and built per order, not mass produced.

    Icon/All Pro.....chopped for 35's
The mass produced Alcans suck.....there's plenty of posts proving that. $200 more for custom built without an overload is what I'd do.

PS - I love my AP's though! LOL

If you opt for the Alcans, better expect two months before you get them.
They over promise and under deliver.

I will not buy from them again simply for this factor.
