    I tried searching and couldn’t find anything. (Still new so sorry if I suck at search) anyway, Bilstein basically says the 5160 rear shocks are good upto about 1 1/2 of lift if I’m not mistaken. Well the Deaver stage 2 leaf pack lifts 2”... anyone using this setup or knows if it would be ok? Looking for suggestions before I pull the trigger on stuff. I do already have the 5160s that I’ll put on this weekend, but I do want the new leafs. AAL better? But mainly the question is can that combo work. TIA

    Not sure about that leaf pack. Also seen a couple others on here quote the 1.5” max on the 5160’s, but I have about 2+” of lift in the rear with 5160’s no problems.

    What do they mean “good up to?”

    All OEM replacement shocks for the rear are pretty much the same. They are typically an 8-9.5” shock stroke and are the limiting factor for the leafs. Lifts just reduce down travel/droop.

    Can a 5160 handle 2.5" rear lift? All pavement.

    I ordered the 5160s from Amazon..got the left and right side from separate vendors. Make sure you search by product number. I ordered the Deavers/ubolts/bushings from Headstrong Offroad. The Deavers should arrive today...all were delivered within a week.

    I recently bought All Pro leaf packs to replace my sagging factory leafs and Icon AAL. All Pro leaf packs should give a 3" lift and I got a kit that included the extended Bilstein 5125's even though I've already got 5160's. I looked up and compared lengths to figure out if I can reuse my 5160's.

    Bilstein 5160 Extended Length: 24.06" Collapsed Length: 14.22" Listed for 0-1.5"
    Bilstein 5125 Extended Length: 24.38" Collapsed Length: 15.01" Listed for 2-3.5"
    Bilstein 5100 Extended Length: 22.94" Collapsed Length: 14.02" Listed for 0-1"
    OME Nitrocharger Extended Length: 23.58" Collapsed Length: 14.17" Listed for 0-2.25"
    Fox 2.0 Resi Extended Length: 23.8" Collapsed Length: 14.7" Listed for 2-3"

    So, it seems that the 5160 have a shorter extended length than the 5125 but more overall travel. 5160's are longer than Fox or OME which are both rated for a higher lift. I'm going to reuse my 5160's and sell off the 5125's.

    How'd it go? Any pictures of the lift installed? I'm looking at the same rear setup with undecided front suspension but are looking at ome887springs. I'm hoping to get about 2in in the front and 1.5-2 in the rear.

    It went great. I'll need to dig up some pics and edit the post later. For now I'll say that when I finished the install it looked sky high. My suspension was 5 1/2 inches taller in the rear. That said, I was on stock shocks that were beat to hell with a GFC on the back. The rear was sagging pretty significantly.

    The 5160/Deaver Stage IIs settled some, but the lift is still over 2 inches. That's because their load range is rated 400-600 and my constant load is only about 375. It's not too stiff, it just sits higher. I used the brake line spacer that came with the 5160s but nothing else. No carriage extension or extended brake lines.

    @Kerbouchard!
    Thanks for the pics! Helps a lot. I have a leer 180 and a wooden platform made of 3/4 inch plywood. I assume it probably weighs similar your setup. That said, I'm not looking for that amount of lift in the back with weight included so I'll probably go with the stage one Deavers. What are you running in the front? I'm looking at ome885/887 with 5100's. It's been a challenge on deciding what all I want. I'd like to keep it close to stock with 2'' in the front and leveled in back with my platform/cab full of camp supply.

    The fiberglass topper and platform probably weighs no more than 225#s....toppers are usually about 175. I think you'll be good with the stage one Deavers.

    Up front I installed the Bilstein 6112s and put them on the 5/6 bracket. You can set them lower if you want less lift. They're fantastic. Highly recommend.
