Plasti-dip definitely looks good when done right and when it is new. But I haven't seen it last very long and it's a lot of prep work in the meantime. But that's my 2¢.

So today I removed the little Toyota badge above Tacoma as well as the ugly dealership decal that on the top left of the tailgate. I kind of like the look of how it is now. If I change out the rear bumper to a color matched version, then the blackout emblems I think would look better. I'm also thinking about taking off the V6 and SR5 badges too and just having the Tacoma only.

    It looks good!
It would look good with just the Tacoma badge on the left too, clean and simple.

My 4cyl has a black bumper and only Toyota and Tacoma badges lol. I like the chrome badges with chrome bumper tho.

It's actually a chrome bumper with black covers from https://www.ecoological.com/store/p68/2005-2015_Toyota_Tacoma_-_Rear_BUMPERSHELLZ™_-_Chrome_Delete_Truck_Bumper_Caps.html

I've had them for 2 years now and they've been perfect. Was definitely a lot cheaper than a new color matched. You can't even tell unless you touch it a feel the plastic vs metal. Would definitely go this route again if I had to do it all over.

Edit: I chose the Gloss Black color option

Thanks! I might just grab a set of those. I also found a single piece metal face for the same price, but I need to get confirmation that it will fit.

Debadge! It looks the cleanest! The way I look at it is if someone is looking at your truck with no badges what so ever and can't tell you what package you have, their opinion does not matter! The same as if someone who is looking at an BASE with TRD Sport or TRD OR stickers and believes its not an BASE.... dumb asses.... so who cares, lol! Make it look clean, screw them :)

I've done several variations. Off and on. I settled with the Tacoma badge only and plastidip'd them dark grey. Super easy process, durable and looks great

Agreed, ready to plastidip my tailgate emblem dark grey and get rid of the chrome. I already have the can cause I did the emblem in the front grill. Need to just stop being lazy and get it done!

Do these shells go over top the chrome face, or do you remove the chrome face and replace with the plastic shells?

Over the top. There are adhesive strips attaching the shells to the chrome.

Right now I'm leaning towards getting black replacements, leaving the chrome ones on, or getting the black replacements and painting them a dark gray or gunmetal color. I'm not really feeling the whole debadging look.

Blacked out. My door badges are plastidipped and the little V6 badge on the tailgate. I also have blacked out Tacoma inlays on the tailgate.
