So I debadged a while back. Yesterday I washed my truck and noticed the ghosts of some of the emblems. I thought I did a decent job with goo gone but apparently not. Any suggestions. Sorry I don’t have a pic.

Just a guess, but it could probably use some more good gone and then maybe a clay bar to kill whatever contaminants the paint is holding onto.

Clay bar sounds good. I have an eraser wheel i was thinking about trying with some wax.

This that and the other thing.
I had my badges taken off and then had the entire truck professionally buffed/polished and the ghost is still there, its somewhat hidden by the matte black emblems I got them to put on. unfortunately they didn't put the logos back exactly where they came off of but oh well, cant even tell its there unless you squint and look at it from just the right angle. some times it doesn't matter what u do, it will always be there

I used a scratch remover, it is like a less abrasive rubbing compound. That seemed to take it off.

According to your sig - your truck is three years old. If it has not been garaged or sits out side most of the time, it's likely that there is faded paint where the decals were. good luck with the suggested fixes.

Leveling kit, aftermarket a/c knobs, led lights, h/c filter removal, drop in filter, catch can,
usually the only way to get rid of ghosting is a good cut and polish, depending on how long the trucks paint has been exposed to the elements, the worse the ghosting gets, because the paint under the badge isnt exposed to everything, a good detailier can hide most or all of it

100% agreed. Ive debadged everything I've owned and most of it can be taken care of with compound and polish on a nice micro fiber, but some cars need a good cut and buff in that area.

Just make sure you don't go at it with too aggressive of a product, pad, process or machine. You may end up eliminating the ghosting and creating a whole new problem by going through the clear coat or more.

Thanks for the advice guys. I’m going to give it a try this weekend. I’ll post pics of the results.
