I was able to just get a fishing line and take care of it in this Tuc-sizzle weather. You can use a hair dryer if you want.

I plan on leaving the truck un badged, I shouldn't expect any scarring or damage right?

No scarring or damage, when I took mine off and I have an 05 like yours, there was a slight ghost image on the doors. Actually enough of a haze that when I put my my new badging on I used the ghost Tacoma left behind to apply the new ones. No marking needed. Tailgate came out fine. You may have to use a very very light cut wax to clean it up 100%. Other than that you should be good. It's easy to do.

    New truck....so nothing yet
Use a putty knife to remove the excess tape. Be gentle and make sure you use a sawing motion with the fishing line. Oh, you make wanna tape your fingers where the line with rest, it cuts the shit out of you.

Take your time stripping the badges off and polishing/cleaning after you are done and it should go great.

And buster is right..>some heavy gloves or tape or something like a handle will make your hands MUCH happier.

would you use this hair dryer / fishing line method to remove a dealer emblem? I just picked up an '07 DC and didn't notice the emblem when I drove off the lot.

for the fishing line, ive only seen it recommended one time, but fold the fishing line in half and twist it so it looks like a tight DNA spiral.

and yeah, tape your fingers or wear gloves. that crap hurts after just a few seconds.

I debadged my 99 maxima in 2006 and there is definately a ghost if you catch the light sideways. you should be okay if youre doing it after 4 years and not 8.
