I am hesitant, but when my wife said she was thinking about debadging her RAV4, I changed my hesitation to anticipation. :D

actually my truck made the choice for me. I walked out to the parking lot one day and the "V6" tag was hanging verticaly by a thread. i touched it and it fell off. underneath the adhesive looked like it was 90 years old. it was yellow and hard and looked like it had been drying for a long time. so instead of fixing it i jsut cleaned it up and took the rest of them off. now the truck looks much less "busy" and "noisy"

I would have been pissed off, but since it looks better without you lucked out. Any idea why it was falling off?

No clue. all i can think was that the badge wasn't pressed fully into the adhesive and was only being held on by a small section giving the rest of the adhesive the opportunity to completely dry up. after you debadge it the adhesive is grey. but this was yellow and crusty like it had been exposed for a long time.

Picked up my Taco yesterday will debadge, de sticker today, Ordered new Billet front grille, replace the wheels and the Toyota emblems will all be gone. Except the steering wheel. When the steering wheel airbag blows I'll have the emblem embedded in my forehead. I love Toyota, My 5th Toyota I've owned by their on vehicle advertising is overkill.

I don't mind the chrome badges, but I hate stickers on a vehicle (TRD). But what I really hate is seeing guys who's tacomas aren't TRD putting the TRD sticker on their vehicle, guys BMWs that aren't M5 putting the M5 badge on and guys who buy the cheap Honda Accords (Japanese Domestic Vehicle) from Japan and putting the Acura badge on, a right-hand drive Acura ? GET REAL! (The Acura TL is the Accord in Japan).

Took 30 minutes to Debadge. It's 86 degrees so all I needed was fishing line, W.D -40 with soft rag and two Corona's to keep me cool

    +1 for DeBadging!

I did this on a warm day and used a hair dryer to warm it up.

    1. Dental Floss
    2. Hair Dryer
    3. Goo Gone
    4. Zymol Wax
    5. Super Ice Cold Sierra Nevada Winter Edition! Had like 3 of them.....

Now, I'm debating to take off the TRD sticker!

Mods? What's a mod? Bone stock, baby. Well, okay. Maybe a few smallish mods. If you count a locking gas cap, coin holder and a behind-the-seat trash bag.
Absolutely. Owning both a Taco and a BMW, it's amazing to see how many non-race-inspired Toyota TRDs and pseudo-M5 BMWs there are. The younger Bimmer guys all want to buy M5-look-alike wheels off eBay; shifters and other M5 doo-dads from performance dealers, and you-name-it. It's a bunch of nonsense, IMHO. Who's fooled by this? What's the point? When someone asks [in the BMW case], "Oh! Is this an M5?!" What are they going to say, "Uh, no. I just like people to think it's an M5."

I'm not totally anti-plastic chrome; I appreciate the clean look, and those vehicles that have been de-badged make my head turn, but I'll probably keep my plastic chrome. I was amused, though, that part of my options package included "SR5 badging". Ooooo. I got so excited. :)

I guess everyone has their own taste. For me, I like the badges, especially the TRD ones. It tells me what you have. Every time a new Taco drives by and is a different color than mine, I think...man, nice truck.

No emblems and no stickers would confuse an already declining mind.

    I'm just the opposite.

I have thought about adding a "Toyota" bade to my front doors above the Tacoma badge as a throwback to the previous gen.

Debadged is better.Used a heat gun and dental floss, still have to do the stickers and doors. Here in California your more likely to get your truck broken in to with TRD stickers than with out,STUPID thief kids. This happen to my last prerunner with trd stickers.Had it 2 weeks bone stock and the 16 year old illegal imigrant broke 2 of my windows to get in and find nothing. He hit 5 other cars in my complex.Luckly the kid got caught that night. All I got was having to fix my shit instead of pay the deductable, since it was ruled vandilized.
