Debadging

Hey! So I attempted to debadge my truck... I got the passenger side done although after using a heat gun, a razorblade and floss you can totally tell where the badges were! What do I do now to finish it up and look good? Once I know what to do I will attempt the drivers side and the tail gate.

As in the paint under the badges is "fresher/cleaner" looking than the paint on the rest of the body?

I had that "ghost writing" too. I used Goo Gone to get rid of any remaining adhesive. Washed the truck. Clay barred the truck. Polished the truck. Then waxed the truck and it all completely disappeared.

thats a ballsy move for sure using a razorblade. also fyi fishing line works great to instead of floss,its tougher is all and wont break as easy.

 

i used a putty knife on mine, but i was getting it ready for paint. i am thinking about painting them black and putting them back on. i am liking the way the black looks on my gold truck.

 

I did some clay barring on it this afternoon and OMG I am amazed!! It looks great! I also polished and waxed my tailgate as my tester LOL and it looks awesome although you can see scratches where the wording was. Eventually I'd like to get it repainted but as-is right now, great improvement

I just waited for it to be in the sun on a hot ass day and it peeled right off.
