Just looking at purchasing a 2001 Tacoma V6 4x4 access cab w 230k miles. Has CEL and is throwing three codes: P0441, P0450, & P1135. I'm capable of dealing with these problems individually, but I'm curious of ya'lls thoughts; are these codes deal breakers for you guys? And if so why?

the 1st two are emissions.....fuel charcoal canister
could be as easy as new fuel cap or a cracked hose found by poking your head around under the bed where CC is located
could be difficult to determine where leak is coming from, need a smoke test and replacing affected parts

between AM/used/new OE range of $175-$350 for canister
not too difficult to install.....just be prepared to have a crap ton of dirt/dust in your eyes/hair

the 3rd is pretty straight forward
bank 1 is front O2 sensor

only 2 bolts........but if never RR'd before.....could be PITA bc of rust to remove

Sure but what I'm curious is it worth the hassle or just wait for another to pop up for you personally. Cause it could be very straight forward or an absolute goose chase looking for an evap issue. I should add that it idles rough and I'm suspect it's because these codes

The rough idle is 100% the front O2
One of the signals that front O2 sends out

If everything else on the truck is good and you feel the price is good - generally fixing those issues is pretty straight forward and a great first project.

Does your state require an emission test? If so this could be an issue, if not, fix the O2 sensor and let the emissions code go.
