You're more than welcome even if you're solo from OC. Just meet us at the Gen Patton Museum and let us know if you'll be there.

I was wondering is someone going solo wanted to go in my truck or I can hop in theirs. Would be more fun that way, to me at least. Split gas, etc.

67% chance I’ll make it. Going to a party later so will see in the a.m. if I’m feeling up for the drive. If anything I’ll meet at the museum.

That railroad trestle is awesome, I really hope they don't tear it down. I'd join tomorrow, but I decided to take my truck apart again.

Look out for desert tortoises! I almost hit one last time I was there.

Thanks for the heads up on the tortoises! You can ride shotgun with somebody if you want.

Guess I should have clarified, I am getting up early tomorrow just to take my truck the most-ever apart... I'm on the forum reading up tonight.

Here's the shot my dashcam got of that tortoise though, I knew I had saved it somewhere...

    Resized_20180712_000605.jpg

Lame picture I know. But he's that little rock-looking thing front and center. It was too late to stop once I realized what kind of rock he was, but luckily he was centered on the trail. I slowed down for lots of other rocks after that, but he was the only one that turned out to be a tortoise.

The sign by the trailhead warns you not to startle them or they'll empty their bladder and later die of dehydration. But it was pouring rain so hopefully he's ok, even if I did scare the piss out of him. That little river you see to the left is the normal trail with foot-deep water rushing along it. Which reminds me: if your phone starts blaring flash flood warnings when you're out there, don't ignore it.
