December 2017 Seattle-Area Meet

I'm gonna be in Oregon until Xmas but I'm off work until Jan 2nd. I'll post on here if I go anywhere in the area and will tag along if anyone makes plans.

alrighty ... so @Rocco-Taco @Korndog1284 and I will be leaving the Safeway in Monroe (19651 US-2, Monroe, WA 98272) at 11AM Friday to head to the trail.

I think rocco and korndog will be staying saturday night as well, i'm on the fence. So anyone who wants to join Saturday, you can find us here: Post #53

And Sunday as well. Don't let our ability to leave on Friday hinder you from coming out Sat or Sun. We'd love to have ya and there will be plenty of room. I assured as much when I scoped out the camping scene. See my early post with GPS on campsites, it's the NE-most. The post has details.

Tire came off the bead?

 

Yep, Someone aired down too low... it was a great learning experience!

 

It was a TEACHING experience and completely intentional. Okay not really. I aired down to the same amount when I was scouting out the place the Tuesday before we headed out and everything was fine. I think the differences w Saturday's conditions - 24" virgin snow depths and steeper switchbacks - are what contributed. But yea, now I know how to re-bead a tire using flammable materials. We've all watched the videos but it's a little nerve-racking when it's you out there on a mountain in 20 degree weather with the sun quickly setting. I should post the video or something.

 

When and where is the January meet?

 

Is anyone planning to go wheeling this weekend?

@Korndog1284, @TexMeg89 and I are going to up to Walker Valley ORV tomorrow morning, if you're interested?
We're meeting at the Mohai museum in SLU-Seattle, right off Mercer. Will probably hit the trails by 11 AM.

 

Wrong side of the water for me. I need to find people over here to wheel and camp in the Olympics. Until then, probably just continue to be me, my wife, and the dogs.

 

that's too bad. I don't mind heading over to the OP so why should you mind heading to the 'mainland', right?

 

I come to Seattle mon-fri so on the weekends I like to head further west. It’s also a lot less crowded than the east. Maybe some other time.

 

Shiit, wife just reminded me we have dinner plans at 6 with some friends in Enumclaw
