December 2018 Seattle-Area Meet

I have heard that but not been presented with any proof such as a comparison/puncture test. I’ve driven pretty quick over some very sharp stuff and have not had problems yet.

 

Yup, my duratracs are fantastic in the snow.

 

But suck on wet asphalt, right?

Are you guys running c or e rated Duratracs?

 

Horrible on wet asphalt. I'll spin up to third gear sometimes. I have no idea what i am. Whatever the toughest compound is

 

Load rating is printed on your side wall.
It's the c-rated ones that people sometimes bitch about punctured side walls

 

I have c rated. To be honest I did not know about the weak sidewalls when I got them. As I looked into it, I found all the complaints to be from several years ago. Also from people mobbing up hills and bouncing on things they could’ve crawled over. I’m not trying to suggest the sidewalls aren’t weak, but with my experience they haven’t given me any trouble.

I will be going as long as I can get some
folks to meet up. I have two straps and some chains. Maybe want to pick up a shovel unless someone else has one.

 

I would like to hit some snow as well. I have like 5 tow straps, and a shovel.

Red Pencil. Shouldn’t take too long. It it’s too snowy or not fun enough we can double back towards Stampede Pass

 

What's different about this from last time?

 

The planned route to Keechelus Ridge is significantly shorter with less stops. Straight up, hunt for Christmas trees,
Straight down. While getting rowdy in the snow of course. If for some reason the snow is too deep or we haven’t had much fun, we can double back to I-90, and go through stampede pass to find some trees. Or if someone else in the group has an alternative idea, we can try that. Stampede Pass to 410 is longer and I have not navigated it on my own yet. But I do not plan to stop frequently in the same way as the November Trip. There will likely be far less people. Plus I just want a tree and to do some donuts, not spend all day out there

 

Someone may have responded already but there's a ranger station in North Bend and they're open on Saturdays during the holiday season. That's where I got mine last weekend.

 

I roll Duratracks and tested them at Naches aired down and gotta tell u they did amazing! sidewalls perform outstanding.
