97 and earlier trucks are sealed beams. The 200mm Hella E-code H4 conversion is what I highly recommend for those trucks. Significant improvement in output and very high quality.

I'll vouch for the Hella Ecode housings for 95-97s. Had planned on the wiring upgrade as well and don't see a need for it unless I have some free time and an itch for another project. The difference from stock is incredible.

Plus, the original "sealed beam" fell apart when I pulled them out, seal was dry rotted.

I had one OEM headlight and one aftermarket Depo headlight for years. I would polish the lenses twice a year and they'd look good from outside, but the OEM one was far brighter. After a few months they'd get dull, and I got tired of the constant polishing. I bought a set of stock replacement headlights and corners from Amazon for $66. They look good from outside, and fit good, but after adjustment they are wobbly and rattle going down the road. I made some adjustable tensioners that put a little bit of pressure between the back of the headlamp assembly and the core support which has relieved the shaky lighting. My biggest complaint is that the light on the road isn't the same between the two, probably because of the poorly designed reflectors. Whatever, it's better than it was, and I can live with it, but I wish I spent more $$ and got better quality headlights or factory Toyota pieces.

When you say polish, did you provide a UV protective/stabilizing coating? If doing so, you should only need to reapply periodically as a maintenance item and it would prevent fogging.
