After 2.5 years of camping off-roading and hiking I had quite a bit of seemingly permanent red moab dust among other things in my carpets and seats. I've had this shampooer for almost a year but finally bit the bullet since my seats smelled pretty bad any time they would get wet. I followed the chris fix method it took about 3.5 hours very happy with the results but not something I would want to do very often.

Nice! Got a link for the vacuum and cleaner solution you used? I've heard good feedback on Bissell extractors and McCulloch steamers for interior work.

I just used warm water in the extractor and pre treated the seats with folex carpet and upholstery cleaner brushed it in then extracted a couple times after a very thorough vacuuming.

The only way to deep clean interior. I took my carpet out of my first gen and pressure washed it.

    Nice!

I did the same a couple of months ago. I've had my 1st gen for 18 yrs & never cleaned the interior other than wiping plastic trim panels. I was a mechanic back when I got the truck so my driver's seat & door panel got pretty bad.

I rented a Bissel from Ace for $14/24hrs. I'm amazed out how well the little extractor worked. I was going to put on seat covers anyway but wanted to clean the interior before I did. My driver seat was pretty bad so I didn't expect much but damn that little thing did a fantastic job. I cleaned all 4 seats, door panels, floor carpet, & headliner (my headliner was pretty bad too). Took me like 4 hrs & I returned the Bissel the same day. I used hot water & the Bissel 4x solution.

The rest of the seats didn't look that bad but I couldn't believe how black the extracted crap was & how much kept coming out. Mom had a little Bissel like 25 yrs ago, I don't remember that thing working very well. I'm sold, I'm thinking I might just buy one.

Looks really good, you should see if they go in sale for black friday. I could see my self doing it every year or two.

You both did a great job. I have been wanting to do this with my Tacoma’s cloth seats but since they are heated, I am not sure if it will damage the heating elements in the cushions. I might just have to use something like Tuff Stuff on them with a brush and some microfibers.
