Power - looking at campers this summer i wish i got a more powerful truck, very limited if you care about your truck at all on long trips

MPG - My fathers silverado gets about the same MPG's as mine, 18/19. When i bought a tacoma that was a misconception i had. Especially if you tow a lot, the Silverado will win the mpg game

Unless i get serious about a larger camper, i would probably stick with a tacoma. I like being able to drive in larger cities and also park there without worry, something my friend cant do. My tacoma does everything i want, except tow larger loads. If it was a really good deal, which new gmc or chevys seem to have good rebates every once in a while, i might go that route.

If you are considering having kids, an access cab would be the last type of truck I would choose to purchase. They are tiny and cramped. Good luck putting a car seat back there comfortably.

I believe the Silverado he's considering is a 6 cylinder.

I agree with the seats in the Silverado, I am not a big guy and felt like the seat was made for someone of larger bone density with a bit more junk...everywhere.

"Toyota remains the world’s biggest automaker both on this list and by number of cars sold. The Japanese company sold 10.23 million vehicles in 2014, beating both Volkswagen and General Motors."
Time to get your facts straight.

I love my 2013 2wd Tacoma. I’ve pushed the limits with her on 4wd roads (successfully) and have fun with her with minimal issues. I went with 4cyl for gas mileage. Even with upgraded tires, I still get better mileage than my 6cyl friends.

Unfortunately I’m selling my truck within a few months. I’m wanting a wagon for daily driving and an old 4Runner for trails.

Posted the same question to a popular Chevy site in their 2015+ Silverado section. Copy and pasted the exact same question.

110 people read/looked at the post.

Not a SINGLE response, not a single one!

Whereas, most of you whom read the post, responded.

Well, that tells me a LOT, THANKS for being AWESOME!

What does that tell me, Tacoma owners are nicer, more friendly, happier? Sure seems that way.

I have learned a LOT from all of You, BIG THANKS!

I will test drive a few 6cy and see if they have a bit more spunk than my current 4cy.

I esp like that the TRD model has a locker, FUN i didn't know that tid bit, learned from the group.

    Daria,

    The truck looks GREAT!

Your horns look neat, i have never seen those before, i'm sure it reflects on your personality!!

I like the light bar in the lower grill, can you tell me what company/model number it is? I would LOVE to do the same. Is there an install mod page for it?

Sassy girl with a sassy truck. The horns will be removed before I sell the truck but the rest stays as is.

My light bar was a 32” LED bar from AUTOFEEL on Amazon. I think I paid $100 for it a year and a half ago. Cheap but awesome. Been submerged in water and never gets any moisture in it. Easy install, either cut out part of the valance or mount it behind for a hidden look. Wiring is not my thing so my buddy did it for me.

I would like to share a photo to show you how much more capable a fullsize is.. This is my 2013 with an easy 1100lbs in the back.. I didn't do this all the time with it, just a few loads like this..lol

    IMG_5873_zpssbwnbddn_03635fbdc8ef9fcab959fc27f4952d7c21bdb1a1.jpg

I don't regret selling the GM. The Toyota has a lot more to offer for my everyday use, it is more nimble.

IF, Chevy made a 2wd 1500 with a basic access cab, no seats needed with an 8' Long Bed, i would not even ask about the two. To get that, you step up to a 2500 and it's not worth it to me.

I mean, obviously a tacoma. You can get a 3rd gen sr for that much, however it will be 4 cyl. throw down an extra 2k and you have a 3rd gen 6cyl sr.

Motor vehicle wise, there isn't a better community/forum than tacomaworld. Everything else is second rate.
