Decision Made Regarding Trading my Honda Ridgeline in on a Tacoma...

    The facts:

    2008 Honda Ridgeline RTX model, Dark Cherry Pearl, 4400 miles. Purchased new for $22,000 OTD in August 2008 with no money down out of pocket. Trade in value offered $20,000.

    2009 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab 2WD Sport, short bed, brand spankin' new, Pyrite Mica, MSRP $28,540. My out-the-door price including trade equity and all taxes, fees, etc. $23,571.81.

    I will be picking her up tomorrow. Pics will follow shortly thereafter. Thanks to all who contributed their opinions, advice, etc. Deciding factors on my part included: color, physical appearance (I am very visual), reliability (it's a Toyota, need I say more), fuel economy (unless everyone is lying about their fuel economy I will be doing much better with the Tacoma), and long-term durability (seems like the Tacoma was built to last longer than the Ridgeline and my intentions are to drive the Tacoma until it dies, hopefully pass it on to my son in 10 years), and price (best value in my opinion than all other options out there: I didn't care for the Nissan Frontier nor any of the GM options). I chose the 2WD version as I already have a 4WD vehicle that is quite off-road capable and didn't see the need nor did I want to suffer in fuel economy.

    I look forward to learning more about my vehicle here on the forum and I am sure I will be asking more questions/advice in the near future. Thanks again to all who helped validate my choice.

    good move buddy, I don't think you will regret it. The only thing I have to say now is this; the more time you spend on this board the lighter and lighter your wallet shall be. :D But worth it!!

    I think you made a wise decision. Honda is a good vehicle for sure but as far as a truck goes Tacoma is great. I've had mine 6 months & love it! It has all the power i need, plus the features & room that it offers, mine is a dbl cab wd.
