Hey guys...looking to purchase a new Tacoma for myself and I have two options after several weeks of shopping around.

1st option - 2012 White DCLB Sport 4x4 Auto. Has the Entune nav with JBL sound. 72,500 miles. Price quotes at 27,823 out the door. 6% sales tax. Basically sits at 26,000, started at a ridiculous 27,988. Seems a lot for the mileage it has especially considering this next option.

2nd option - 2012 Grey TX/Pro DCSB 4x4 Auto. No Entune, standard radio. Has 21,100 miles. Price quoted at 29,6 out the door. Also including my sales tax fees title registration. Started at 27,999 before fees etc. Trying to work that to 29 flat. Also includes a Leer topper which is huge for me considering I have dogs and why I made the change from 4Runner to Tacoma.

I know these hold value extremely well, but come on...some of these dealers are absurd with prices. What do you guys think? Photos attached showing the white has a level, I think, and the grey also has side rails.

Id probably get the one with lower mileage. Plus, I guess the Pro comes with the locker.

Will these 2012-2015's models take a dip after the 16 is released? Could be used in negotiations?

I'd go with the second option. Definitely the better deal IMO. If you really want to upgrade the stereo do it yourself, it will sound wayyyy better than the JBL system anyway. The topper is included...fraction of the miles...killer wheels...the grey taco is sick! The white looks nice too but I am not a fan of DCLBs.

My thoughts exactly. The shell is a huge plus. It is a little more than what I want to pay and if it was anything other than Toyota I probably wouldn't do it.

Recommendations on stereos? I don't need all out, but I want it to look good. Nothing cheap looking.

Yeah I spent more on mine than I wanted to but oh well! As for stereos, from what I've seen there are a couple of members on here that can get you set up with something nice, just look through the audio threads. I took mine into a local shop and had them gut my "upgraded" JBl stereo and replace it with JL amps and subs, focal speakers and an alpine HU topped off with sound deadening. It sounds great, very clean, and they did a really nice job on the install. what did you have in mind for the stereo? New head unit? Speakers? Amps? Subs? Haha

New head unit. Preferably touch screen with some gps action and then upgrade speakers, then add an amp.

Back to the original post though. 29's for a 2012? Sound in the ballpark? I just feel like it's kinda of crazy when a Toyota dealership in VA has a 2015 off road for 29,788 plus tax etc...

No Truck is Low Miles at even 50,000. I never buy at anything more than 35000. That will give you 50,000 most likely of head ache free driving less normal care.

Yea Toyota is suppose to debut the new 2016 this month. I would try to play that in your favor. The TX Pro is what I'd shoot for!

I would go with the grey one. Unless the 2015 has that low of miles, but I doubt it does.

at those prices, why not save a little longer and get a new 2015 next year when the 16 comes out for a good price with full warranty?

I would choose the second one...but for a extra 50 to 100 dollars a month I would go brand new.

If you can pick up a 2015 off road for $29,788, I'd say jump on that! It's a great price with a warranty.
