2022 Black AC OR MT w/all TRD goodies
TRD: Lift, Exhaust, Air Intake, Skid Plate & "Beadlock" wheels. Batman sticker. 255/85R16 Toyo MTs. Debadged. H9s.
Personally, I wanted the features of the OR, but there are plenty of features on my wife’s Sport that I don’t have that account for the similarity in pricing.
She’s a fan of the anti-rollback (we both have manuals) the blind spot and parking assist, the better handling on the highway (bigger sway bar, different shocks), better brake feel with the vacuum boost, wireless charging, colour-matching fenders and yeah….the cool scoop.

She goes off-road enough that we put 16 inch wheels with “E” tires on in the warm months; but we kept the original 17’s for some lighter (and more available) winter tires. If you are replacing tires, there are more choices in 17s.

The OR might be better if you choose to put yourself in truly awful places, but the Sport will handle virtually anything and is more comfortable most of the time.

The Tacoma will be fine at that speed and distance. It is not great, and I would guess the heavier, more powerful Durango is much better at towing, but I haven't looked up specs or personally tired.
I would invest in trailer brakes,, but that is regardless of tow vehicle on a mid sized and a trailer over 2-3k #.

I don't "offroad" really at all but I do find myself in deep snow situations where a locker would have been nice to have
