It will if you don't use sensor safe permatex gasket sealer. Otherwise you shouldn't get any errors.

Just bought a 4" plate today and a k&n filter. Ready to complete the mod this weekend. Might have to use a jigsaw for the hole however.
Been needing to get a k&n filter, so the mod cost a little more ;)

I'm looking to do the deckplate soon in combo with the AFE filter. I have the 2.7l four banger. Could have sworn I read that the deckplate doesn't make much difference on the 2.7 compared to the 3.4 v6. Anyone with the 2.7 done the deckplate and would recommend it? Any difference in mpg or power? I don't want to bother cutting up the airbox if there isn't much difference.

If you can post back with your results after installing the deckplate and filter I'd appreciate it. Would help me make up my mind about doing it with the 2.7

I've read some good reviews about doing the deck plate on a 2.7L. Which is why I plan to complete it.

Check out this thread. Lots of great info and addresses your exact question about how much difference it will make on the 2.7L. See post #18.

In the process of completing it now. A 4" works fine. Cutting the ribbed section on the 2.7L box kind of sucks. I will install after family time :)

Cool good luck with the install. My friend's family owns a marine store, gonna pick up a 4" deckplate. Probably will do the install next weekend.

    RIP Lucy.
    She's gone but not forgotten.
There's so many questions as to which is the resonator, what's the best way to tape them off, etc..when I get home tonight I'm going to take mine apart and take pictures, post them here (if it's still daylight when I get home, otherwise tomorrow).

The deckplate mod on mine, my butt dyno says it made a difference but then again my truck always feels like it runs better after I wash it. So tough telling.

Taping off the resonators though, on my way back from Tampa yesterday I needed to put my foot into the pedal to get out of a 18-wheeler's way...and I LOVE the GRRRR coming from under the hood!

I was able to complete the deck plate mod for my 2.7L this afternoon.
    I used a 4" deck plate,
    Senor safe silicone
    6 3/4" pan head screws
a Jig saw ( it was all I had)
    a metal file
The ribbed places on the 2.7L air box was a little hard to deal with. But After I was able to file them down it was ok. I also taped off the senor (the one that inserts into the little black box. I plan to un-tape and test also.
Total time was about one hour +.
Just make sure you cut the hole where the plate and sidle into the hole in a easy manner. If not, you run the risk of throwing the plate off and the insert might not fit right.
    Here are some pics..
The last one show how close the windshield fluid is..
