I have a 98 taco 2wd sr5 with the 2.4l. Went to a local boat shop and ordered a 4inch deck plate. When I got it today the inside diameter is 4.2 inches and outside diameter is 5.75ish is this right? And will it work? When they say 4inch deck plate do they mean 4inch inside diameter? Thanks! it should be labeled 4" deck plate on the order receipt or packaging. I'm pretty sure you have it, they only make like three different sized plates.

Okay let me post a picture with a tape measure next to it so you could see the size and make sure. Don't want to cut it and find out it's to big!

Just hold it next to your air box and see if all the mounting holes are on the box. It should be fairly obvious if it'll fit.

I did that and they all are on the box. Does that mean it's good? Haha sorry just want to make sure it's right. I was slightly confused when people say 4inch deck plate. Does that mean the inside hole is 4inches?

I believe so, I might have actually used a 5" deck plate on mine :notsure: as long as it fits you'll be fine. This isn't exactly a precise thing. There isn't a ton of proven info about doing the deck plate mod.

Mine has been plugged for the last ~6 months

Why has yours been plugged for the past 6months? What didn't you like?

Running 31s it took away some of my acceleration, feely like I had more torque in higher rpms but it was definately slower taking off

Looks good! Make sure you fill the ridges with silicone really well. Also let your truck idle for like 10 min when you first put it in. Mine ran like shit for a little bit, didnt want to rev up and idled low until the computer got used to it then it was fine. The sound is awesome!

I put it in started it up and it ran like a top. Took it down the road and did a couple pulls. I can really feel a little more pep in the pedal. (Not a hole lot but enough). I put on some sensor safe silicone... More like a lot inside and out. That's what the blue stuff is. I like the deep throaty sound it has at about 2.5-3k rpms. What mod should I do next?

Lift spindles and an add a leaf dont cost very much. Since its a manual definately get the urd short shifter! It was the 2nd best mod ive done so far the only thing that topped it was getting rid of my worn out bench seat for buckets

Can you link me to that short shifter? And I need the bench seat for hauling family and friends around.
