    Howdy,

I did a search and didn't see any posts on this product. It isn't out yet for the Tacoma, but it seems there are tentative plans to release it for many mid-sized vehicles / Tacomas in the future.

Other than the price, what do you think the downsides to having something such as this would be?

I suppose to each their own, but curious as to thoughts out there.

Looks like it would work for some, not so much for others.

It doesn't appear to be readily removable, so for me it wouldn't be practical. I can see LOTS of practical applications for work vehicles however.

    Awesome

Hopefully it's not higher than the top of the wheel wells

Yeah, it would be adding dead space. The current versions are 12" above the top of the bed ridges, so if they plan on using the same drawers, it would be taller than the wells. Otherwise, it would be smaller and different drawers.

Top of wheel well would make it perfect as a bed platform too

I work in the oilfields and we have very similar systems in our trucks (although they are all made from steel) that work great. Heavy, big tools underneath and anything lighter or bigger on top. I absolutely love them for my work truck. I have no idea about the plastic version or this company in general, but the ease of use for this style of storage is A+.

Good thing I did a search before posting....

I've looked at building my own version out of wood, buying one of the various steel options, or the truckvault, but this Decked version is nice that it's plastic and therefore theoretically lighter. I don't need this dog going any slower than it already does.

Doesnt appear to be available for the Tacoma yet.

The price isnt bad. It's easy to eat up $500+ on materials for a plywood drawer system. I did it, and the plywood delaminated in less than a month.

If you didn't need to haul anything then it would work fine. being raised that much you would want to tie anything down sitting on the deck. having a cap/camper could benefit smaller hauls and for more protections of gear.

Hey guys, I came to the conclusion that I couldn't afford one of these. I ended up building one and it cost me about $250 total, that includes the bed liner which was the most expensive part.

None, I didn't want to lose the space added on by sliders. I put 2 coats of enamel paint on all of the wood before I built it. After only a couple months of use, I'm already noticing that they are sliding easier. I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. Unless I load it down with really heavy weight (car batteries), they slide pretty easy.

For me, other than the occassional hauling, I'd be using it for mostly camping but wanted appropriate space for hauling a 3500 generator. I started drawing up some plans to make a "grid" that can be mounted to the bed rim / rail.

I was going to use extruded alluminum ala 80/20, but the cost is definitely creeping up there, but it allows me to mount boxes / drawers / etc. and still keep my bed height to secure a generator.

Anyhow, the Decked system was still interesting nonetheless and will be interesting to see the Tacoma version when it does get released.
