I am trying to decide between a cap with decked system installed or a diamondback cover with a roof top tent. My use case is weekend to weeklong camping. I am waiting to purchase a tacoma so would go with an SR5 for the former option with long bed. If going with the RTT I would take the short bed option.

Any experiences from either of these options? pros and cons?
If I had the decked system, assuming no cap, would there be sufficient drainage of water in the rain?

I like the organisation of the decked system but like the idea of more space with a diamondback. In terms of cost both set ups appear to be similar.

Although we are biased we figured adding a few key features wouldn't hurt. :oldglory:

Our system is weatherproof so it you are not getting a topper you can still store all of your gear (200 pounds per drawer) in each drawer. They are not 100% air tight so fine dust or moisture could find a way in but you should never have any leaking.

While tonneau covers give you more protected room then end up limiting your storage and organization. The DECKED system has a 2000 pound payload on top so you can store your camping gear in the drawers while still being able to load up an ATV or a rack for your rooftop tent.

Let us know if you have any questions.

I have a decked system with a camper shell I use to camp out of. No complaints. I bought a 4" roll up mattress.
