Man isn't that the truth! Last year was like that for me, had a big 10 coming in all the time I had him down to a T, I think I knew what he was gonna do before he did. But when the season rolled around I never saw him until the last week of the season and only saw him getting chased by a coyote....Never did get him:(

Haha yeah same thing happened to me. One of the absolute biggest bucks I've ever seen here in charleston walked in front of my camera last year. I got about 20 pictures of him 2weeks before openin day. I sat that stand everyday I could, I never saw him till the rut and he was chasing a doe. I probably could have taken a poor shot but decided I shouldn't. Never saw him again.

Has anyone started seein scrapes?? I couldn't believe it yesterday I was headin to the stand and I must have seen 10 scrapes. My dad shot two 8 points last night and the biggests ones neck was already swollen. Strange for the early in the year

We went down to our lease this past weekend and I was talking to a few guys up the road from our place and they said the same thing about the scrapes already being done also. I never seen much of any while I was on our property but I wasn't looking real hard less than 2 weeks till opening day I didn't wanna go running all over.

Yeah it's the weirdest thing. The earliest I've really seen Has been late September. The track in the middle of theses scrapes are huge. And I saw a rub on cedar tree that's about 16 inches around. That's a big rub. Which means a big buck. I'm gonna put a camera in the area

    stock, for now
id let the air out of it..

On the other hand, I saw the biggest buck of my life last year..I thought I had the deer in the bag one night last season, but something spooked him and he turned and walked away. Season opened on the 8th of sept, but I havent been able to get out yet. One day after work I need to get out and put the camera out.

I see what your saying, but I also see a longer snout, barely any brisket, and fairly pencil horned. I'm sure another pic of him would be more decisive
