Funny story time. I was cleaning out one of our closets and found this euro mount I had done for a guy I used to be friends with. He’s a shitbag so I don’t mind giving yall a laugh at his expense.

couple years ago I brought him to my land in Texas and he and I were hunting from my big rifle blind on the south side of my land. The plan was to sit all day. By mid day we had seen several deer but nothing worth shooting at. I got up to take a piss and while I’m mid stream I hear him say “there’s a cull buck out there. Can I shoot him?” I tell him to take it if it’s one that needed to be removed and so he does.
This deer takes the 308 round (it was a well placed shot) and literally runs right toward the blind and dies less than 2 feet from the front corner.
It was cold so we let it hang out and continued hunting. I was mostly hoping for a pig or a yote at that point. When we decided to call it a day I climb down and see this deer up close. It damn near still had spots it was so young. This “cull buck” was a juvenile that had one of its antlers broken off
for an idea of its size, when he gutted it I picked the deer up by its back scruff and shook the blood from its chest cavity.

so after he left to head home I retrieved the head and took it to my buddy’s taxidermy shop and had them score it and do a euro mount. We talked so much shit for the last few years.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk

 I was going to offer him some access to land and a few tips, but he never gave himself a chance!

FYI most the ass hats I’ve dealt with have been from imports with Montana plates?!

Went with the wife tonight, last night trail cam had some activity about 15-20 minutes after sunset, was hoping they would stay on the same schedule, 15 after sunset came and went and was just about to start closing the windows (2 minutes before legal shoot light ended) and saw a doe, told my wife if I thought I had a good shot I would take it with the limited time left in season, I ended up squeezing a shot off right at 30 after sunset and saw it run a few yards and crash, waited a little bit and then went and collected.
Ended up being a button buck, didn’t even notice the nubs until I noticed the pecker before I gutted it, it’s pretty small but really needed the meat in the freezer and season is getting close to ending. 130 yard shot in the left shoulder and out the right shoulder, broke the right leg, deflated both lungs, pretty happy with it overall.
