    Growing up there weren't many deer around where we live so we drove an hour+ away to hunt. I've heard my dad shoot, then shoot again, then shoot again.

    I'd walk over and there would be a doe and 2 little ones laying there. I'd say why did you shoot the small ones? He'd say I shot her and they just stood there.

    He was feeding his family is all he was doing. He didn't kill just to kill.

    Same here too. Didn't realize it was such an issue until doing more pistol shooting/using iron sights. I guess anything with a scope, I was used to closing an eye to shift that focus to the right eye. For archery/pistols, I have to close my left eye then try to open it slowly after getting to focus to my right eye; sometimes I just keep it closed though. It can get real real fuzzy beyond about 30 yards and my brain starts telling me there's two sets of pins/irons lol.

    Daughter is the same way too, but fortunately we caught it the first time I took her shooting, so I just taught her to shoot left handed. She physically can't wink/close one eye for whatever reason, so trying right handed just wasn't cutting it. Definitely feel for you guys, I know it sucks!

    After last weekend's ice storm, I finally made it out back to check the camera yesterday.
    Very thick ice layer. Zero deer movement.
    Driving around, I've seen groups of deer hanging out in the softwoods where the ice is minimal.
    Nothing on the cams 'cept Fox and Yotes.
    Stating today. temps will go above freezing, 50's mid week and this shit will finally melt. :amen:
