Did up some burgers last night, just a splash of dales and bbq sauce, a half a pack of beefy onion soup mix, an egg and some bread crumbs. We dont do burgers often cuz we use the hamburger meat in every thing else but my BIL had the grill hot and wanted some burgers haha.

Saw a group of deer yesterday including an 8 pointer. Still had his rack.
The latest i've seen them here is early March, but that's unusual.

Got part of a road kill elk today, I would have had the whole thing but my wife didnt want to stop so I dropped her off and went back. Only to find a couple people that didnt know what they were doing so I helped them quarter it out and they let me have a backstrap, tenderloin and one rear quarter....

I have pictures of a younger buck doing the same thing. Going to raise it up higher this year. He's also knocked it over a couple times. whole bucket of corn gone. I think the turkey and the squirrels were getting their fill too.

What cut is that?! Looks delicious.

I saw some smaller bucks still holding their racks as of a couple weeks ago. It's been unseasonably cold here, but that was still really surprising!

it's back strap cut about 4" long and then butterflied laterally (transversely... I can't remember all my terminology from anatomy classes, but whatever left to right is) I had pics of what I'm talking about but they must be in this thread cuz I cant find em in my albums

I cut the last deer up like this, turns out great! I wont be doing any other way. I thought the grains might be wrong but it doesnt seem to matter as it turns out grains are cut on the diagonal when you slice it to eat. Props to yota man:thumbsup:
