    Couple questions:
Does anybody here use the cheap wolf 145gr steel .308 ammo?
If I zero at 100yards with 145gr steel ammo then how much drop would 150gr brass be also at 100 yards?
    Thanks

Are you just trying to save money? I always sight in with the cartridge I'm going to hunt with. If you get dialed in with Wolf then it should be just a few clicks with your hunting round right before the season starts.

Yep trying to save money at the range with steel case. I have a little budget build Ruger American predator .308. My area doesn’t allow deer or hog to be taken with steel case. So my thought process was zero at 100 with 145gr cheap steel and use 150 more expensive brass on deer day and just figure out the elevation when I have my sight on the deer.

More than likely your zero will be quite different w/ the wolf ammo and your hunting ammo. Plink w/ the wolf but when hunting season rolls around zero your rifle w/ your hunting ammo. Shouldn't take more than a couple of rounds to get it dead on at 100.

My Tikka 308 likes Federal Gold Medal Match, it will shoot sub 1" groups at 100yds with it all day. The hornady equivalent match ammo it shot a much larger group and the point of impact was usually several inches right and low.

Find what your rifle likes and shoots well.

My Savage 223 doesn't like any of the factory match ammo I've run through it, got the smallest groups w/ Hornady black. Fine by me, the more I can afford to shoot the better I'll get as a shooter.

Ive had bad luck trying to use steel cased ammo for target shooting. I had some out of the box remington ammo and it was shooting out the bullseye at 100yds. I went to steel cased ammo and it was in a paper plate sized group. While the steel cased ammo shoots, thats about all you can expect in my experience.

 this is the best way! Every gun shoots ammo different. find what round you want to hunt with get different brands after you find out what it shoots best. zero for hunting.

Whats funny is when another deer hunter tells you "Only you are in control of your emotions", I usually tell them I'm not afraid to pull the trigger, I just love hunting so I cant help to get excited to have a deer or whatever within killing range.
