Anyone interested in a all inclusive elk hunt in Northern New Mexico?! My friend is a professional guide with a fantastic piece of property and beautiful lodge to stay in. PM if you're interested. Here are some of the views from my weekend scouting trip there....

Dates for the hunt are Oct. 13-17.

Though I can’t swing it on such short notice, I would love to do a hunt like that. What’s a hunt like that cost if you don’t mind me asking?

That was one of many that I saw on my trip. Only one that would let me get close enough for a pic!

Hopefully I’ll see him in a couple weeks. I don’t really want to waste a tag on him though.

We can kill 10 does here, but only 2 bucks, and one has to be 4 or more on one side. So I don’t want to waste a buck tag on him.

    Many & varied
I’m looking at a couple different Vortex scopes to pair with a Ruger Predator .308 for deer hunting. I’ll be in pine & oak forest with typical Georgia underbrush. No shots longer than 100 yards. Anyone have experience and suggestions on a specific model? I checked out a couple display units at Academy and was surprised to find the Crossfire II model had better eye relief than the higher priced Diamondback models. I prefer V-plex to BDC, since I won’t be making long-range shots.

Well, for now this is what I came up with.
Brimmed hat, fluorescent orange 3xl tee shirt.
Cut up the shirt, (hence the large shirt) sew to hat and wala!
    We'll see what happens...lol0826180529.jpg

I received that orange boonie hat from Amazon and held it under the faucet and water just rolled right off of it.
