Ive never had much luck hunting in the wind. Seems like everything beds down and then once the wind stops they come out.

For me it's depended on the temperature. If it's warm and windy they don't seem to move. If it's cold and windy they can only seem to stay bedded for so long.

I've had good days in the wind. I faintly remember reading an article where a guy recorded weather conditions every time he took a whitetail over the course of 10 or 20 years or something like that. windy days were statistically good.

Im sure there are good windy days. Here Ive noticed its not windy in the trees a lot so the animals stay hunkered in the woods. once the wind dies down then they come out in the open. Temp also has to get them moving because they need the calories to keep warm.

Got snowed out this afternoon, was looking good and then it just dumped on us. Good news is there was numerous deer/buck tracks crossing the road as I went home ;)

Hey guys have a question about cameras. I’ve always hunted in spots where the land owner would say here that the spot. Now that I have two semi permanent pieces of land to hunt I’m looking at cameras. I’m going to start researching but I figured I could get some good advice here from you guys that have been using different kinds. I want to start off slow and not so high tech.

These are what we have been using for the last couple years and they are great. I’ve never bought anything from this sight but they are on sale right now for a pretty good price.

Moultrie are good and they range in price from $40-100+ Ive also started using stealth cam with good results. Ive had a couple bushnells and they start out good but decay quickly and one day you'll have 1000 pics of nothing and then they quit working. Ive gone through a couple bushnells. Dont get tasco they are worthless. The best batteries to use are the energizer lithiums or super lithiums. Some batteries like duracell leak and burst when you use them in cameras. Ive had a couple burst on me and now I only use the energizers and I havent had any issues. The rest is how much you want to spend ;)

we actually use cheaper ones but name brand because bears like to play with them like chew toys! but late summer they let you see whats in the area put along fields and stuff and then move them to trails to see what time stuff is around your stand!

I picked up a Muzzleloader yesterday, from our local wanted ads. It was a little dirty/rusty but for $100 it was worth it to me. I have some muzzleloaders but some friends dont so Im going to clean it up and let one them buy it from me. Its a traditions in-line buckhunter.

Yesterday in the front yard of some property I hunt, not 100-150 yards from the house. It was at noon, he'll be a nice deer in another year or two. This is not in a residential area either.
