We have till Jan. 20th for archery here. I’ve been seeing a couple of big ones in my neighbors bean field but they’ve been staying out of range. Some of the bucks here are starting to shed so we gotta be careful if we do get one.

Most of the deer have left the area I hunt . 3 cameras out and just a couple doe . Scouted around a bit and really very little sign . Really wet weather this year
I think drove the deer from my area . 120 acres with about 50 of it being slightly steep with natural drainage ditches and thick thick tangles of thorns and stuff. One long ridge with oak and beech and hemlock .Other side of hill is loaded with summer homes and some year round residents and most deer hang there during deer season !Normally during the season I would see about 6 different bucks .It’s just so wet I think the deer don’t like it :notsure: This is another reason I will be hunting Pennsylvania more next season . Found over 11000 acres of state land 25 minutes from my brothers house, so around 2 hours from me . NY needs antler restrictions like Pa . Hunting here is not that great . I think I shot the only rack buck on the property and see mostly spikes . About 10 years ago I imposed self law and shoot only 3 points on one side or better but everyone around me shoots whatever they see .

I've heard Utah is awesome elk country, tough to get tags for non-residents though. Northern NM is where its at, beautiful country up there!

Accurate af for the eastern states. 2018 was the wettest year I can remember in my 31 years. I gave up after our gun season. Been too warm and raining every day I had a chance to get into the woods, so not worth trying to stick one with the bow for late season.

I’ve got some bobcats on my property but Illinois only issues 500 permits statewide so they’re pretty hard to get. We couldn’t even kill bobcats until 2 years ago.

If permits become a little more available I’d like to get one for my deer room.

Yeah seems like a few years ago they were bringing $30-40 but you pretty much have to trap em to keep from having a massive whole. I use a .243 and even it came out bigger than a golf ball which I assume is no bueno in pelt land

Couldn't they sew up the exit hole? when I was a kid in Nevada we'd come across big piles of dead coyotes all skinned down to their paws. Awful smell in the hot sun. I have never hunted coyotes but would like to start. My state is open year around and allowed at night except for deer and elk rifle seasons.

I guess they could but I think they still dock you for it. Coyotes are the same here but night hunting can't use a center fire rifle... I kill most of mine from my stand or out my window somewhere on the back side of my house haha
