Planted my last bag of Mossy Oak Biologic Hot Spot yesterday

 

I don’t see very many ,this might be the 3rd one I’ve ever seen . The other 2 I’ve seen were crossing the road in my travels . My chunk of woods here is surrounded by a lake on one side and lots of ponds near by .

Guy that lives down the road from me... Got dat tn velvet thing going on... He kills a bruiser every year... But it was super early this year

 

I have deer in my yard all the time. Love seeing fawns and their moms and big bucks are so majestic. I run 5 miles every morning and say hi to all the dear i see as i run by. They are such beautiful creatures. I understand hunting but I personally could never kill one unless i had no other means of surviving. I guess I think life is a little to precious to kill and hang on my wall. To each his owm

 

My stepson missed this buck at 20 yds with a muzzle loader last year.

I’m glad you enjoy nature. It’s a key component of living well

A lot of people appreciate not buying their food shrink wrapped.

The antlers can be more a reminder of time spent outdoors than just a basic decoration lol. Continually honoring the dead animal and what not.

saw a young forky behind my house a few minutes ago. Already rubbed his velvet off! So it has begun here! bow season opens this friday!!

 

The majority of hunters you find will have some of the most respect for nature, and the animals, of anyone you’ll ever meet. I love the fact that I know my meat is fresh and didn’t come from some farm where everything is brutally slaughtered. And there’s something about going and sitting in a tree after months of patterning the animals, figuring out the paths they travel and the times they travel them. The trophies on the wall always have a good story to go along with it...a lot of times these guys have watched the deer for a few years before they are able to harvest it. We aren’t just a bunch of blood thirsty killers. Hours and hours of practice and patience come together to - hopefully - give the deer a fast, efficient death. I guarantee it’s gonna be faster and less gruesome than what nature has in store for them.

 

The shooting is just a tiny part of it. I've witnessed more things in nature than the average non hunter will ever see.
Ever seen a bobcat attack a squirrel? I have.
Ever seen a deer that has given partial birth to a fawn? I have.
The list goes on. It's an amazing place out there. I feel very thankful to get to witness it as often as I do.
And taking a deer home is just a very small bonus.
