    Our rifle season opens 10 Oct...I didnt get out much during bow season, bad weather and other obligations. Rifle season is going to be crazy...

    you can use bow during rifle but there is a late bow season starts the 10th-24th Dec for deer and also a late elk season for a week in there somewhere.

    I made a gambrel a few years ago at work out of stainless, made it adjustable in case you ever mistakenly shoot a fawn for a big doe and have a hard time stretching them far enough to get them on the gambrel, not that I would know how that is :rolleyes::rofl:

    Gotcha. Our bow season runs from Oct 1 thru mid Jan with a break during the two gun seasons.

    rifle is basically anyweapon...so crossbow, bow, muzzle loader etc. but then December 24th everything closes except for mt lion season...which runs till march I believe.

    I made this thing on the bottom a couple of years ago for dragging. Still have not tried it tho, it's hard to beat a cart.

    I shot one last year that I thought was a decent size deer, but it was on the edge of the fog and I misjudged it. Easy dragging, but I made up for it a couple days later, shot it's momma!

    If you look close you can see my arrow sticking in his shoulder. I have gotten 5 bears with the bow but mistakes still happen. The arrow is right where I would want it on a deer but unfortunately I rushed the shot and this is what happened.
