I havent. Theres some delicate bones inside the nose cavity I try to keep as best as possible and with power washer it would blast them out. seems like old and young deer its really easy to disintegrate them..but I'd rather have a little bit in there rather than a big hole. With the way I posted in the other thread it comes out super clean.

I have several MPE6 cameras that probably take better pics than any $65 camera that I've seen.
I also have a couple Gamekeeper Census cameras made by Covert for $60 on ebay that take clear pics with no problems.
This pic was taken from a Covert MPE6 20191018_080016.jpg

I've tried every name brand that I know of except Reconyx.
Covert is the only cameras that I use and the only cameras that I'll buy.

Its still also hard for me to grasp how strong a .243 is...a neighbors son shot an elk recently with one at over 500yds easy. Ive always been told its a "deer gun" so that sticks in my head.

Don't need much when you have a well placed shot. That said, the 243 is a deer cartridge, lol! Elk hunting is a great reason to own a larger caliber.

you're not helping;)...ballistics are quite good. In my mind I think 243 and 223...but I know they are different...

Yea, 243 is a great example of fast and light delivering a lot of energy.

Yea it's still a deer gun. A good one although 7-08 is the perfect deer caliber

Oh yeah a .243 is on a .308 case so capacity is quite decent. And you can get bullets from 55 gr to 115 gr (100 gr is the biggest factory load I have found) I would still feel a little undergunned out past 150 yards or so but with a good bonded bullet it should have (and apparently does not have) a problem bringing an elk down with good shot placement. I mean people hunt them with a 30-30 from what I understand and I feel I heck of a lot better with a .243 in hand than a 30-30

Love my .243's. Have two of them both shoot sub-moa with factory ammo (Federal Premium 100gr SP). That said, energy drops off pretty significantly after 300 yards. Bad medicine for whitetails. Little light for elk, IMO.

I've shot a few Coyotes past 400 with a 100gr .243 pill. Corelocks still advertise around 900 ft/lbs at 400 yards which is as far as I would consider shooting a deer... But i have seen that at 1000 yards they still can (with the right bullets) have more energy than a 9mm point black which would be plenty with a perfectly placed shot to kill one... But a lot can go wrong in 1000 yards

yeah my wife shot a buck with her 30-30...at about 110yds, I almost bought a 243 couple times. May have to at one point just to see how good it is for myself...I dunno I dont think I'd put it on an elk...but lots of people wont shoot an elk with .270 either which it works good for elk...
