Ain’t that the truth! It Actually started with Antelope Season! Got an antelope, “so your done for the year?” got a deer, “so your done now?” Still have a doe tag and an elk tag. Hoping to punch those before Dec 1st!

I’m on what has been a solid trail the last few years. Now, however, it literally wraps around and would end up crossing this new road. My town has become nothing but a tourist haven...and everyone is wanting to move here, so now everyone is developing every bit of land possible. I hate it.
Ended up having a buck run in toward me (from the side opposite the road) the other night. Never saw him but he came into a pine thicket and grunted. About 5 mins before shooting light was over. Had to get down and heard him run off the way he came. We’ll see what happens. I’ve got several spots to hunt on that land. I’m thinking they’ll still be in the area on weekends when they aren’t working.

Took a doe with the 45 acp . Winchester 230gr Blsck Talon through both shoulders and lodged under the hide , from 30 yards . Never bothered to go get my phone for pics of the deer, but thought the recovered bullet was interesting

good job. thats what i shoot in the muzzleloader. Winchester Platnium Tips. same bullet but nickel looking coating. when they pulled black talions they eased them back into production as a hunting bullet. only one placed carried them and i bought like 4 boxes of them. here is a jacket of one from a deer. stayed together but lead came out when i plucked it out.

What caliber is that one ? Long and smaller hollow point than I’m used to seeing .

I ended up with a large stash of 45 acp , 9mm , and 44 magnum black talons , but I’m down to my last full magazine of 45 acp outta the bunch .

Yessir , I’m aware .. to be honest it’s not really my flavor . I use HSTs for auto pistol carry , and pretty much hard cast for all else especially any hunting . I’ve just been wacking hogs with the last of my black talons and had this deer come out , wanted to see how it performed . Haven’t recovered any others I’ve put into animals because they’ve been used all on headshots .

Just a slightly different version of fbi protocol penetration testing ha

Gotcha ! That makes sense . Last jacketed bullets in used in the frontstuffers were 44 caliber XTPs in sabots

All the bullets I've recovered from my deer have been loaded with hair, meat, and fat!

I scrubbed it because I didn’t feel like keeping the hair meat and fat on my reloading bench
