Have you ever dug a 5 prong?

I know many old timers that've never dug a 5 prong in their life,
but know of a guy that was suppose to have dug a 7 prong many years ago,
that old seng is probably far and few between these days.

I've managed to find and dig two 5 prongs in my lifetime, but I haven't dug seng in several years,
The first one when I was about 9 years old, it was about 3 feet tall.
The second one when I was about 13 or 14, it was probably somewhere about 30 inches tall.
it's hard to find tall seng when you're use to looking at the ground for small seng.

I killed a deer with a damn near identical rack to the one above in SC earlier this year. I wish I could have gotten some better pics. I Should be getting him back from the taxidermist within a couple of weeks. I’ll post some better ones then.

I havnt dug in years. nope ,never seen a 5 prong. 3 and 4 prong yes. we use to always replant the berrys. if im not mistaken it takes about 12yrs to mature to dig.yes when you key in on a certain height easy to miss one as tall as that. good post! brings back memories:thumbsup: i find myself looking for it when putting up stands or checking cameras in late summer

Thanks! He’s my best deer to date but I’ve only killed 3 deer. 1st was a smaller 6, 2nd was a decent 7, and then this one. He’s not really anything special but I’m proud nonetheless. I’ve been hunting 6 years so I was thankful to finally get a good buck!

Friend of mine already killed a nice 8 in this spot this year. He said this one walked by his stand the other day right at dark and he couldn’t tell how big he was so he passed. He walked right by his camera. A mutual friend not far from there had the velvet picture but hasn’t seen him since.

I'm a weirdo, I'd take this deer over a symmetrical deer any day. Love that stuff.
