I think my hunting is done for the year. Still have a few days of muzzle loader. Bow starts up again and there is a anterless gun weekend coming up. I got my wall hanger buck with the bow and lots of meat in the freezer. Very happy with this year hunting. I checked my camera on Thursday and still some nice bucks around. Muzzle loader is still close at hand just in case.

Yep I'd say somebody hit him low, buck fever jerk or never set their scope or maybe kicked him up on the way to the stand and just took a shot in the dark.

Watched this guy chase some doe around last night. Our lease rules are that each member gets one trophy buck every year, and I shot my 10pt on opening weekend. Slight buyer’s remorse but it was awesome getting to see this guy strut around. If he makes it to next year he’s going to be a monster!

When I was about 18 we hung deer if it was cold in an abandon house where we hunted. This one was stiff as a board and I strapped it to my four wheeler and drove home an hour and fifteen minutes. I had people blowing the horn and waving, probably get pulled over now. This was back about 1994.

The deer I bowed down in September, a buddy put it in his freezer until he had time to put it in his beetles. He sent me a sneak peak just now.

Bagged my first deer on opening day here in KS on WIHA! Always wanted to hunt growing up but never had the opportunity, so this year I buckled down, built the gear, and made it happen.

First of many kills to come from my model 70 :)
