lmao. dad has a good store kinda like that. deer got hit and had a broken back. the lady called the UT vet school and everything. lol. dad shot it. and their is a law in TN that you can pick up road killed deer. i think you are suppose to call T.W.R.A and report it and sign something but not sure.
x2, if i had a gun on me and saw one hit i would shoot it.

i would also so do the same to any dog i have, if it got it and had a broken back or something. i could not stand to see it suffer till i could get to a vet. vet is at least 10 min a way, and they wont do anything on weekends.

So, it's a BDL then, very first deer rifle I ever bought. I even financed it, (that was a first as well, Dad wanted me to start building credit). About 1981 IIRC.

I bought my son a 742 in 280 it was made in the 50's & shoots great.

Yeah its a BDL in 30-06. when I started hunting my cousin had one & I've always liked the look of these. You don't see many of them I found mine about 8 Years ago & got it for $350. It was made in 71 & it shoots great.
I called Remington with the serial #'s from both guns & they told me what years they were made in.

Well guys and galls I finally got the buck I was after! He came in yesterday around 3:30 cruising the edge of a big field. I missed a 120inch 10pt last week with my bow, and was having to make myself go back to the stand. I never imagined I would even see this deer, but with some luck and a bunch of help from the good Lord I got a chance to redeem myself. He's not a giant, but for where I live it's like killing a 180inch deer. The best I can tell he's atleast 4.5 years old. He weighed 155lbs field dressed and should score right at 130inches.

And please excuse my ugly mug! I was still in shock!!
