When you are shooting at a deer or other game, you don't notice the 'kick' do you?? Target practice is a whole different story though.

I had a .270 short mag and it didn't matter if you were shooting at something or not, it kicked, lol.

ha, you should check out Western Md., specifically Green Ridge State Forest, I have seen then drinking beer at 7:30 am in camp on opening day, moving thru the woods, I would find fresh empty beer cans, scattered about. now don't get me wrong, i'll drink a shit ton of beer, but not w/hunting

Loud talking for 10-15 minutes straight within 50 yards of 'my' spot.........where either me or my buddy (now in Florida) have sat for 25+ years on opening day - THEY were never there before. Went to relocate due to these fuckwads and walked up to the old logging road above me. I see an orange dot moving toward me from the direction of where I parked. If I could see him, he could see me, right?? He walks right up to me - not another orange speck in sight anywhere (except for the assholes below me in the crik bottom). He asks if I had any luck.....I told him "No, too many fucking assholes out today" and walked back to my truck. Was done at 9:30 AM on the opener. If I had beer in the truck I would have been drinking it then. Buddies had similar experiences with other assholes encroaching on their spots that never happened on Monday openers. I never even went out on Monday - the second day, but would have been the traditional opener. Packed my shit to go home and drank beer.

No more $101 given to the Pa. Game Commission. I will still go to camp to drink beer and bullshit with my neighbors on Friday after turkey day, but I will not go hunting there anymore. The non-resident licence IS a GREAT DEAL, if you use it all: one antlered deer (rifle/shotgun/muzzleloader/bow - regular firearms season only); small game - bunnies, grouse, squirrels, pheasant (has an xtra fee); 1 fall turkey - either sex; one spring gobbler. Bear is $36, I think for non-residents; archery, muzzleloader (late season) and antlerless tags (if you can get one) are all $26 each I think - haven't bought any xtra tags in years.

If I didn't have the camp there, I would have quit hunting in Pa ~ 20 +/- years ago when they started the NEW antler restrictions and concurrent buck/doe (antlered/antlerless) seasons. In the mountains where I hunt, the food is nothing great for deer and neither are the genetics, so your 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 year old bucks will not turn into monsters (neither will the older bucks). There are some nicer bucks there, but there always were - they were just outnumbered by the smaller bucks being taken. I have seen exactly 1 'protected' buck (4 point or smaller) since the new restrictions of 3 points to a side. The 5-7 guys I hunt with have collectively seen less than ten of these bucks in roughly 20 years there. Where are they??? Getting shot as antlerless deer with the increased number of permits.

RANT over (for now at least)

I meant I no longer will rifle hunt in PA. That is all. The shotgun is for Ohio. Sorry for any confusion.

Found my scope: Nikon Prostaff P3 Shotgun 2-7x32mm on eBay (used).....was on several top 5 lists for slug guns.

Pics of it and my gun once I get them along with the mounts.

Looks good, I would've painted the interior walls black before assembly.

I learned the hard way myself, I've built 3 of these.
