Good for you. I wonder how long it will take before you lose track of what day of the week it is, and not care.

I lost track of time a long time ago. I was working 12 hours a day, 2 on, 2 off and every other Fri, Sat, Sunday.

You guys keep posting up the picks. Especially the ones you get a kill on. I wish that my hunting days weren't over, but life goes on. Maybe one day, if I can find a good hunting buddy I'll try a ground blind during archery season with a cross bow, Maybe.

I still have several hang ons and like hunting 20-25 ft. off the ground however, I find myself hunting from ground blinds more and more. I have killed my last two bucks from ground blinds and using a crossbow.

Words of encouragement. I sold all of my climbing stands and hang on stands after my 2nd spinal fusion. Was advised against climbing any trees for hunting. Sold my Mathews Bow since I couldn't draw it any more. Can't handle the recoil of my 30-06 or my 300 Savage, so I've been eye balling a 350 legend bolt action rifle if I decide to try gun hunting again. With that round I can shoot to 100 yards knowing I have enough ooomph to drop a deer. Even cocking a crossbow is a chore. Might have to look into a hand crank. Best part of deer hunting for me was camping out for 3-4 days with no "Wife", cell phone , or TV. Just peace and quiet.

Not looking forward to the day that I can no longer hunt, it’s such a big part of my life. My dad was able to deer and Turkey hunt until he was 85, hopefully I can too! If I was you I would look into a crossbow with a hand crank and ground blinds are very easy to put up and take down.

I put a hand crank on my Barnett, it can be a little aggravating but makes it easier.

When I first got my crossbow I had a time with cocking it using the cocking rope. I finally realized I needed to cut the rope to fit me and my arm length, that helped a lot!

Mine has 1” on each side when I’m ready to draw it. It’s still a long fulcrum pull..

Took a trip to the lease about 3 months ago. We had 5 feeders working. When we got there 4 of the 5 feeders were knocked over from the wind. I've got my blind anchored in the ground with 2 five gallon pails of concrete so it was fine. The guy previous to me in that spot, his blind wasn't anchored and it got blown over.

Anyhoo, we were able to get two of the 4 feeders working that same trip. Thank goodness for plug and play parts. However, the 2 feeders that were put back into service were now precarious. Hunting buddy goes up on Monday and calls to tell me my feeder got knocked over. It was full of corn so it must have been a helluva storm. Got to the lease the other day and got the SD card.

I've got some hog hunting to do....
