Just make sure you clean it after sight in and make sure your scope rings or rear sight screws are tight

I've got a CVA accura that has killed quite a few deer out to maybe 150 yards. Like wilcam47 said, clean it soon after shooting. That goes for any muzzleloader. I use Buckhorn 209 and 250 grain Hornady SST.

I hunted with a guy who had a CVA Buckhorn. It was a nice shooter. My son and I both shoot Knight Big Horn’s in 50 cal. We use 250 grain Hornady SST saboted rounds. These guns are extremely accurate. Both were purchased off an auction sight. Got them cheap. Neither one had been fired. But I tried to buy a third one for my youngest and sent it back after inspection. Guy had never cleaned the barrel and the powder ate through the rifling. If you haven’t hunted or shot black powder before, there is some homework to do before hand. Good to know what you’re doing when using black powder. Good luck…stay safe

I love opening day of muzzle loader. Just heard a squirrel running through the leaves, blood pressure went to 342 over 226, just like that

Went out to the mountain yesterday to scout white oak acorns. checked a few stands. did a good bit of walking. our Muzzle comes in Saturday. wife is having shoulder surgery Monday. not sure how much ill get to go. this stand is on a oak flat at the top of the cliffs that go to the river bluff. a natural funnel. 40 minute walk to it. ton of acorns everywhere. gonna need the bucks to start chasing. Get a small tube of bore butter and some Hoppes black powder cleaner. After you clean run a swab with the bore butter helps protect the barrel. If you are done for the season take out the breech plug and make sure the primer pocket hole is clear/open.

Biggest mistake with muzzle loader is the primer hole is plugged, also not cleaning it after each use.

Most ive shot at range was 3 shots without cleaning...after that its nearly impossible to load a bullet

I switched to Blackhorn 209 powder, it is super clean. I’ve shot mine 7 times and they went in almost as easy as the 1st.
