Deer hunting BS thread

I’ve never heard of someone not gutting their own deer

 

Yeah, not good to let it sit in my opinion

 

All my deer are gutted immediately after killing unless obviously I have to track one .

 

Yep, as soon as possible gut and hang. Get as much blood out. Thats majority of peoples problem with deer they let it sit too long without gutting or hanging

 

I'd be willing to bet my processor deals with more whole deer, than gutted/quartered. Its definitely not uncommon, although I'm also of the opinion that its best to get the guts out as timely as possible. I've never taken a whole one to the processor that sat for more than 2 hours after the shot.

 

I will be getting this before next season so I can get the deer in the bed of the truck by myself . But I will still gut the deer pretty much where it drops on the ground .

 

My brother in law butchered deer for over 20 years right down the road from me . It was unbelievable what some guys brought in . Deer with partial guts in it or the asshole not taken out . Piss bag still in there

Never had one processed for me. I wouldn't even know where to look around this area.
Once knew a guy who had one processed years ago.
He came back with about a quarter of the meat he should have had. No backstops or tenderloins either.
Bone dust everywhere as well.
The Fudd didn't know any better.

Gut em on the spot.
Yotes and ravens will destroy the evidence in a couple of hours.

It’s not been doing it for years.

 

I gut immediately in the field and rarely ever remove those. It’s not necessary just careful not to bust the bladder

I seemed to have opened a can of worms. 1st ,,all us on here know how to kill,dress,clean and process our meat,I always do my own. But,you would not believe the crap that some people bring in. ive seen road kill look better,Dalson will not take one thats not field dressed,tells them sorry,he guarentees all meat is from your deer only. if it is questionable as in half spoiled he wont take it. a few get pissed but hey, its his business.was so busy turned away twice what he worked up.some people may live in town or apartment where they cant or dont know how to work one up.1st year at VT my oldest killed a doe while at school. them rednecks hung it in a tree in front of the dorm and worked it up.ughh,some bitched like they did not know meat came from animals.

Everything is going well. The only thing that I have a problem with is knowing what day it is!!
I have to look at my phone.

I've hunted more this year than ever before. I didn't get a deer mostly because I was after a drop tine 8 that I know is there.
That's ok...hopefully he'll make it until next year.
