@yota243 I couldn't tell you how many times I've been busted by a squirrel in my tree stand over the years. But every time it happened to me, they always went into full blown bark mode, Danger! Danger! intruder alert.
Cool video, and I'm surprised at how close it came, you could've thumped it on the head.

Yeah I heard something above me and figured a bird had landed in the top and knocked something out and I was hearing it on its way down... I was a little surprised to be face to face with a fox squirrel when I turned around. I could have limited out this morning if I brought a .22

The Red Squirrels in Vermont used to drive me nuts.
The whole family would harass me.

One time I was sitting and had one making a fuss...until an Owl swooped down and put a stop to the nonsense.

One year down in Georgia, I blew away a grey squirrel that wouldn't shut up after about 15 min of non stop barking. I figured any deer within a half mile had heard the warning. It was on the side of a tree about 10 yards away looking straight at me. It vanished when the 180 gr 30-06 slammed into it. I found it about 20 yards away blown almost in half. Felt kinda bad afterwards, but hey, STFU when I'm deer hunting.

a lot of bad ass stuff
I plan on giving it a go on Friday and Saturday. I already put a back up propane in the blind for my little heater and picked up some shoe warmers to hopefully help my feet stay warm.

I'd like to go Sat, but the weather Gods won't cooperate.
Supposed to get 3 inches of rain with temps near 60, then going down to the teens by Sat morning with everything flash freezing. The small brook I have to cross will be impossible. Winds will still be cranked up.:bananadead:
    Sooo,no.

But.. I may sneak in a quick hunt Christmas morning. :cookiemonster:
