Look man, we have a super short muzzleloader season and it's the weekdays leading up to rifle season opening weekend, so I won't be muzzleloader hunting much if any honestly; I bought this muzzleloader to play with; I have been wanting to get into casting for a little over a year and thought this would be the most forgiving platform to do so. I happened to have a fire lapping video in my yt recommendations because I had watched several ML videos trying to learn as much as possible after my purchase. The fire lapping video then spawned a hand lapping video (which also could have been suggested due to casting videos or a combination of the two) which then lead to simply polishing. It seemed the easiest and least likely to screw anything up, and the polish was $5... I assume you mean well, but by your logic I should just eat 2000 calories or beans and rice and drink water every day because it would be simple and work, and there is nothing wrong with that, but it's not what everyone wants...

Rock on man. I like keeping things simple stupid. Load gun, shoot MOA at 100 yrds, clean gun, put gun up.

But I use Pyrodex Pellets, do I need to change? Is it bad to try something different just to see if it works?

No, gladly it’s still a free country to do so. Is it still ok to comment that all that effort might be a waste of time? Good luck.

I think your load is gonna tumble. Not sure your sabots are gonna prove true enough to keep things straight from the start. Could be wrong though. If you are worried about getting bored you should take up some other pursuits, turkey, fishing, ducks. Plenty of stuff to round the year out and plenty to tinker with.

That's up to you, your decision. I've shot a muzzleloader for gun season in Indiana for hell, I don't know how long, 30 years. BlackHorn is easily the best powder I've ever used. But it is in demand and I had to use Pyrodex last season. Forgot the joys of a super fouled barrel and the multiple swabs to clean it out.

TC bore butter sure works great on my old side lock using regular pyrodex. Can’t imagine why it wouldn’t work on an inline with similar propellant.

Wife sent me video of 8 deer in the yard this morning sniffing some trees I cut down last week. This buck ain't just sniffing the trees. I can't believe he still has horns.

I been itching for a kibler rifle kit for some time now. Worked my wife over for months till she’s insisting I just go buy the damned thing. A key point was when watching an old movie and I pointed out “even the friggin Indians in that movie have flintlock long rifles!”

Keep rocking on man; you're obviously a guy that gets tons of enjoyment out of all the research, DIYing, and learning along the way. Hunting/shooting isn't all about the X-amount of days you get to actually be in the woods, and sometimes we all forget about that. Sure, there's always a better way to do something - but some people enjoy learning for themselves. Its a blessing AND a curse, and I'm right there with ya
