Man no matter how much you hate them, wear it! It does not matter how high you are but if you fall just right it could F you up for along time.

I had mine on last year and was going up my climber got about 17 foot up almost to where I wanted and went to stand up and my bottom gave out. I had a string tied off to it connected to my top part of climber but that shit is alot harder to bring back up than you think. And it all happened so quick I had no time to react. I use the Hunter saftey system pro series and use the rope style tree strap with a prussic knot so I can stay hooked to the tree from bottom to top.

I was the same was as you I hated it, but I won't climb a tree without it now.

i love my Muddy harness system. very light and comfy.

i rarely hunt out of a treestand. but i bought one for the random hunt i find myself up in a tree. i'm too young to die..or worse eat thru a straw.

Gotta get one man. I always wear one on the climber and my little single person stands. I don't remember which harness I use its just one my uncle has that fits me fine because we're both the same size roughly. I was up 30 feet or so on the tree.

Good. Make sure it's confortable or you won't want to wear it. I don't know much about buying them but I'm guessing the guys in the rock climbing BS thread could give you some decent advise on getting one.

Down here there are plenty of WMA's to hunt at. Most of them are good and not over crowded. The only one I would tell him to stay away from, would be Francis marion. There are a ton of yahoos there. As for fishing, we don't have running rivers and streams. We got the good ol edisto, which is considered a black water river. I fish there a good bit for, red breast, bream, and catfish. Other than that we have lakes which is good bass and catfish. And salt water fishin, which is what I do most, other than deer hunt

When I get home I'll link you to a few posts that typed for a guy that was wanting to fish Folly while of vacay. You can search for it in the SC/NC B.S. Thread it was around the beginning of the summer.
