Oh I get it. You have a burner account where you pretend to be your "son" LOL. I heard of those, just never caught someone using one before.

A good buddy asked me to come and hunt his lease. It’s west of Tallahassee and deer season runs through the end of the month. He sets me up on a spot with a feeder that hasn’t run since December. No worries, let’s see what shows up.

Not a monster, but for a late season deer I’ll take him. Getting him back to camp was memorable. I found a shed and an arrowhead.

I’m content to just sit at camp the rest of the weekend lol.

Got a few of these brass jackets filled. I trimmed a few of them a few thousandth different to get an idea of how they would weigh out. These were trimmed to a length of .60" and the two closest weight 233 and 235 gr, but the back one overfilled a bit and it's at 256gr. I used to make lead spoons for stripe fishing and instead of pouring the lead into them, I set the lead into my mold (it was just coat hanger I bent into a spoon shape, then melted it in a toaster oven and it filled the mold; I may see if I can do something similar here to avoid the over fill since I'm not using a mild with a sprue plate... Anyway I can trim them down to the right weight I suppose and I may see if I can get these some shoulders just to see how they do.

used a corned beef brine recipe.in crockpot would be corned deer. seasoned and smoked its pastrami.left it med.rare so you can reheat to medium and not kill it.

Congratulations, deer hunting in February, lucky dog. I would be kind of interested to know what you shot that buck with? Given the damage it looks like it might have been a cruise missile.

Lol, not a cruise missile. I’ve used this round for years. My gun seems to like them and groups very well at 100 yards. Most of the time, the entry/exit aren’t this “dramatic”.
    IMG_6126.png
This is a small seven I shot a few years back with the same round. I didn't get an exit wound with this shot. It was lodged under the skin on the opposite side. The difference in shot placement was about two inches.

Closed on a new-old house this past Friday about 40 miles inland of where I live right now.
4 acres, half is field and couple acres sloping woods. Guy next door has 28 acres with a nature preserve next to that.
Can't gun hunt it as 2 houses on a side road are just under 500 feet and in ct you need to be 500 feet away for ML and shotgun.

    But... I have crossbow.
Hope this fatty is standing in the same place this Fall.

    Tracks all over the place.
