    had to make a pit stop to filter water at around 3800’. “High Buck” is open! the nice ones hang out in alpine meadows just before the rut.

    I was trying for pitching camp near a lake but a relatively small cliff line, hidden in the trees, kept that from happening. Lucky I found this or it had been a really short trip this year.

    So the other day had a doe come in and it was a little to the left and i couldnt really see her til i moved. Even then the crossbow wasnt positioned right and lots sticks brush in the way, She got nervous and turned and walked away.

    So yesterday i go to clear the spot she came in and she had open lanes everywhere. Where does she go? Right where the most brush is and i prob couldnt have shot even if she stuck around... so i cleared that lane to shoot. Shes a twitchy one!
