Deer hunting BS thread

He and I are in the ground blind across the food plot arguing over who gets to shoot first, after Dennis of course

 

He’s a big pussy, all my stands are 22-25 ft high.

 

The ground blind is for north wind, we have south today.

 

My view for now. Sitting on the deck taking a break. Saw 6 deer out here eating leaves off the trees we been cutting down this morning. They walked right by the chicken coop.

 

I initially read that as 22-250 and was wondering how your stand was caliber exclusive lol

First time seeing him. i have a couple more but basically same spot

 

Had an interesting sit on back porch. Bout 7pm heard deer snorting to my left... A/C fan outside was running so i didnt hear rustlinging in leaves. But heard a few more snorts. Keep looking and out pops a feral cat! So deer was snorting at that! Then to my right i see a doe walking in woods on neighbors property

Saw one doe and 4 turkeys
Takin’ a break for the next couple days . Warm weather and my back and neck and shoulder are killing me already from sitting in a tree and the blind . I’m a mess damnit . Never a painless day

 

Im gonna go tomorrow evening. Only have 2 days for early muzzle loader. I hear you on back pain

I dont get my hopes up...its really shocking to get pics. Talking to people around here theres lots nice bucks. I just dont see them on my 4.75 acres. Too often

I have permission on 130 acres right behind my house . Along with 4 other people. Pretty sure I the only one hunting during archery . My neighbor 2 doors down has a tendency to walk all over the place with stinky clothes and boots like an idiot letting every deer on the property know his presence. I don’t think he hunts with the bow anymore . But rifle season he shoots any buck that walks by Also the surrounding property has idiots that hunt from quads and side by sides . I stop using my quad in September. And it’s all up hill from my house . I also believe in being scent free as much as you can . In my experience Scent-Lok is a big plus . The way the wind is here I would have to stay to one end of the property but I take my chances . The other day I walked 500 yards up hill to my ladder stand ,I had to stop at least 6 times so I didn’t sweat so much . I had a big doe stop right under my stand right where I knelt on the ground to put my stuff on I carried up there . It never spooked . On average I use 2 layers of Scent-Lok and never use regular soap or shampoo starting mid September. I just wish we had nicer deer around here . We need antler restrictions. This is the biggest buck on the property that I know of . I have over 100 pictures of him .

 

Morning BSers it's ladies night....

 

I take my hunting seriously I guess . Always at least an hour on stand before light . Then I hear guys coming in to the woods on neighboring property on their quads when it’s already past shooting light .
