Thanks! I haven't bowhunted for about 8 years, put my bow down when I missed the biggest buck I've ever seen... twice :( was a solid 190" 4x4, would have been my first archery kill. that one in the pictures will probably end up bigger than the one I missed, so we'll see what happens!

Went and picked up a new bow last Sunday. Bowtech Carbon Icon. Took my first deer with a bow this morning. She's little, but that's ok. She'll eat.

Supposed to go to the doctor tomorrow to get his signature on the crossbow permit. Still don't know how I feel about it - haven't even bought one yet - but I know I can't draw 76lbs anymore. I've got the bow set to 64lbs and I'm still struggling at first. Cant go back for another surgery until December. Starting to accept that my goal of switching from a compound to a Bear takedown for hunting is not going to happen.

Tie the top and bottom together with a short piece of rope so that if something happens and the bottom falls, you're not 100% screwed.

It came with one! But yeah I can see how crucial that would be as I almost lost the bottom today.

State land :D I haven't taken a soul to this spot for fear of someone trying to hijack it. Not too often you come across somewhere like this spot on public land!

I wasn't too concerned with age on this one. There were 2 bigger ones with her, but basically all the does on my camera have fawns still in spots, but I figured this one didn't since she was young. Didn't want to orphan a couple small fawns by killing momma.
